Fall lay on the couch, reading her favorite book over again, probably for the hundredth time or so. The smell of flowers filled the room while Spring tended her garden. She ran her hand over an empty space and a small green sprout appeared from the dirt. She waved her fingers over it and rain fell from her fingertips, causing the sprout to grow bigger and a couple buds flowered. Spring smiled sweetly and stood up, backed up, and admired her work.

The door flew open and a cold gust blew in and Fall looked over the edge of her book with only slight curiosity. Winter waltzed in, out of breath but a smirk curled up the corner of his mouth in a triumphant but evil way. Frost trailed across the floor while Winter stepped across to where fall was reading.

Fall raised her eyebrows and looked up at her brother. "Yes?" She asked, not really wanting to be disturbed.

"I've found them." He grinned, pushing her book down so she wasn't able to read it anymore.

"Found what?" She wondered.

"Not what, who!" He took the book and put it aside.

Fall sighed heavily, knowing that she wouldn't get back to reading it for a while. "Who then?"

"Winter! You ruined my garden." Spring whined. "Look at all of this frost. Now you stop that!"

He shook his head as he looked over his shoulder apologetically at his sister. She had a scowl on her face but, as always, she forgave him right away by rolling her eyes and walking to her room. Winter turned back to talking to his sister but he could tell that Spring was still listening.

"The future Seasons."

"What?"

"They will need a lot of work but they are all in one place, same age, born within a two month period of time and-"

Summer walked in, arms crossed and fuming. "There is no way you were able to find all four of them in the same place and they would already get along enough to balance the world."

Winter looked up at him and calmly explained. "Yes, they are all in the same place and they do match us down to a tee, so, though they do not know it yet, they will one day be great enough to continue what we have started."

"They don't know it yet... Does that mean that they don't know each other?" Fall questioned.

"No, It means they know each other enough to know they exist, but they would never talk to each other normally." Spring finally joined them, answering the question herself.

"So, we need to teach them to get along as well so they don't make the same mistakes we did?" Summer kept his arms folded and was still angry, but he seemed to be loosening a bit.

"Yes, but you won't find anyone closer to our balance than they have." Winter said.

For a while a long silence filled the room, no one knowing what exactly to say next. Summer paced about the room, still debating whether or not he was okay with the idea or not. Winter awaited an answer from his siblings, knowing exactly what his brother wanted to say at that moment. Fall looked from Winter, to Spring, and finally to Summer, watching his face the closest, looking for something.

Finally Fall smirked and turned to Winter. "So when do we meet them?" She said slyly.
Wow, sorry I kind of fell off the face of the earth. I will have at least one more chapter after this one, because it's short, but depending on whether or not I can get back into the groove of writing this one. It's sad because this is one of my most original stories yet. I hope you like it either way.
